How long have you been a proposal manager/specialist/ writer?
How did you become involved with proposals?
My background is in Marketing so it was a natural transition for me.
Do you work in a "corporate office" or "home office" environment?
What do you like best about working in your current environment?
It allows me to interact with my co-workers and stay informed about new company offerings.
What do you like least about working in your current environment?
The commute. On a typical day I spend about 3 hours in the car just going to and from the office.
What do you feel is the most challenging aspect of your job?
Our proposal team is very small so we wear many hats. Often times this becomes challenging when there are several bids in the que.
What shortcuts or helpful best practices about working with proposal teams could you share?
Define roles and processes early on. This way, all stakeholders (no matter their department) are aware of what it takes to create a successful proposal up front, and the time and effort expected of them. Also, brush up on your project management skills so that you are equipped to manage multiple projects that run along the same timeline.

Constant communication and clear expectations
