Adaptive Workforce: The Key to Building a Thriving Virtual Proposal Team
Since mid-March 2020, shelter in place was mandated in nearly every city around the world due to Covid-19. As a result, many businesses scrambled for new, efficient ways of working that kept safety at the forefront. This created the opportunity for business leaders to stretch and adopt virtual events that brought teams together via videoconferencing software. Without much warning, proposal development teams were forced to settle into a new virtual rhythm and somehow achieve successful bids, while team members dealt with the individual pressures of a public health crisis.
What type of workforce thrives in a virtual workplace? The answer is an adaptive one. This presentation examines ways of working among adaptive workforces that reduce tension while improving productivity and engagement. We will explore the meaning of an adaptive workforce and why it is critical when changing working habits to adopt a virtual collaboration strategy.
In addition, we will examine how TiER1’s government proposal team leverages the company’s adaptive culture to compete in the government contracting arena with significant success. Participants will leave with an understanding of adaptive workforces, ways of working that support virtual proposal development teams, and a design process for a path forward.
Bio for Dr. Keera Godfrey
